4 Things That Happen To Your Body When You Stop Making Love

Your reasons for not making love regularly might be plenty. According to Healthline, there’s nothing wrong with not having sex. Nothing will break or get old just because you aren’t making love. So if you are on a sexual hiatus, please try not to stress.

Time without sexual activity can allow you to focus on self-care and self-love, build emotional intimacy without a physical connection, and/or give you the time to boost your fitness level, physical strength, and stamina.

However, some things happen to your body when you stop making love and below are 4 of them.

1. Your risk of prostate cancer goes up

According to Medical News Today, if your dry spell extends to the self-pleasure zone, that’s not healthy. Multiple studies have pointed to the conclusion that high ejaculation frequency is linked to a lower risk of prostate cancer.

2. Anxiety or depression might set in

According to Healthline, having sex releases feel-good brain chemicals like oxytocin and serotonin, lifting your mood and spirits. When your system isn’t producing these brain chemicals in the same amounts, it can take a toll on your mental health.

3. You may lower your risk of UTIs

The STI part may not come as a surprise, but UTIs (urinary tract infections) are often caused by the transfer of bacteria to the urinary tract during lovemaking. So a sex-free life will keep you secure.

4. Your blood pressure might rise

According to WebMD, lovemaking seems to help keep your blood pressure down. That makes sense when you consider what it does: It adds a bit of aerobic and muscle-building exercise, and it can ease anxiety and make you feel better. Both of those can help keep your numbers where they need to be.
